Disinherited and yet finally!
How inheritance tears my generation apart

Germany is one of the most unequal countries in Europe. In no other country is wealth inequality as cemented as it is here. We have created a system that promotes public poverty and continually increases the private wealth of a few people. This is largely due to the heir.



In my generation there is one final taboo. While I can easily talk to friends over coffee about the next visit to the psychologist or about sexually transmitted diseases that someone has contracted, we remain silent about inheritance. There is little that will shape and tear my age group apart so much in the next few years. If you look at the current income distribution by age, the largest wave of inheritance in the history of the Federal Republic will soon be upon us - and will fundamentally change my generation. Nobody wants to just talk about it.
